Bad dreams and network problems

The second day has been somewhat harder than the first. On the one hand, dinner happened to be a little bit heavy, so I had a hard time falling asleep and then getting up as well. Then came the network problems.

I was supposed to retrieve for my day job a very important data package that had been in preparation for days. Five people in the team were waiting for it in order to be able to diagnose a very elusive problem in our software that we had not be able to reproduce in our own. This data package was supposed to allow us to induce the error, so that we could work on it, only that it did not want to come down.

No matter how reliable your network is, it always fails when you need it most.

In the end, after some comings and goings I managed to get the data package through a different route and hand it over to our programmers, but the effort wore me out a bit.

Luckily, there was a PhD group meeting scheduled in the afternoon, so I had no choice but to get  myself together and go over to the university. The presentation was interesting and I had a chance to present the paper I had just found to the professor. Unfortunately, busy as he always is, he promised to look at it and gave me no direct answer, so I will have to sit it out.

All in all, progress is slow, but I would not expect anything different. As long as I manage to keep working on it, I will eventually get there. Have a nice evening.
